Customers want to have in the shortest possible time and at the lowest possible cost a new system. But in general the exact specification become clear during the project (See: CompatPP). The functional specification change during the project, where at delivery of the system most of these changes become clear. Realizing these changes is time consuming and often does not result in a structured solution in terms of software architecture or insufficient performance. Many times also resulting in budget overruns and planning problems.

Clear functional specifications

Information analysts using standard available tools record the requested functionality in UML. CompatPP is used to generate fully functional prototypes. Together with the customer the information analyst can verify if the applicatie covers the requested functionality.

It is worth the effort to verify with the use of prototypes with the users if the application can even better support the goals opf the company or the department. This way missing requiremenst are found in an early stage where it is still easy to fix them.
